Description
Eaton Airflex Expanding Clutches & Brakes
Eaton Airflex Expanding Clutches and Brakes are the go-to solution for braking and tensioning applications, from construction equipment and marine winches to laundry and textile machines. These elements—which come in four different series that span a range of features and sizes—use a rugged, tire-like neoprene and cord tube that expands radially, forcing a friction surface against an inner drum to create stopping torque.
Eaton Airflex Type E Brake
Eaton Airflex E elements are ideal for handling the large thermal loads of medium-speed cyclic applications, but can also serve general power transmission purposes.
Eaton Airflex Type EB Brake
Ideal for applications with light starting loads, Eaton Airflex EB elements are similar to CB assemblies, except they expand—rather than constrict—allowing them to behave as a centrifugal clutch.
Eaton Airflex Type ER Brake
Eaton Airflex ER expanding couplings thrive in applications where a disconnection is required without stopping the prime move, or when the driving or driven equipment must be frequently withdrawn from the drive.
Eaton Airflex Type VE Brake
Eaton Airflex VE expanding-type units have a special heat-dissipating design that excels in medium-speed cyclic applications.
- Element design provides excellent slip clutch and tension brake service when used with an air-agitating, ventilated drum
- Torque capacities up to 221,000 lb•in (24,950 N•m)
- Available in three standard sizes: 19VE475, 24VE475, 27VE475
